User Guide

LED Indicators

The Demeter device uses three LEDs to show its current state: Mode, Status, and Error. Use this guide to interpret what each light means.

SD card safety: Remove or insert the SD card only when the Status LED is Purple (pulsing), Dark Blue, or Yellow. If the Status LED is Orange or Green, the device is actively using the SD card and removal can corrupt it. Hold the button for 3s (to pause the schedule or stop recording) to put the device into a safe state.
LED Colour Meaning
Mode Purple Startup (initialising for a few seconds)
Mode Dark Blue Bird mode
Mode Yellow Bat mode

Error LED Codes

If the Error LED is lit, check the colour code below:

Tip: When you turn recording off manually, the Status LED will stay on (Dark Blue in Bird mode, Yellow in Bat mode) to confirm the mode is still selected even though recording has stopped.
